A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Joseph Sarley, who departed this world on January 8, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on September 22, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Andrew and Mary Sarley, Jim was a devoted family man and an accomplished truck driver, a career that took him on countless adventures across the country. Jim served his country in the United States Army.
Jim is survived by his beloved daughters, Kelly Sarley and Jamie Sarley, and a cherished lineage of grandchildren: Keonte Sarley, Lexus Sarley, De’Shawn (Margita) Sarley, Jarrett Montgomery, Jazmin Sarley, Kaylee Sarley, and Jayden Montgomery. He also leaves behind a great-grandchild, Kingston Sarley, who brightened his later years. Jim took immense pride in his family, spending quality time with them and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Sarley, daughter, Andrea Sarley, significant other, Linda Dempster, and loving cat, Lucky.
A devoted Catholic, Jim found spiritual fulfillment in his faith and was an active member of the American Legion Post 513. He enjoyed attending the Assumption Festival, where he celebrated traditions with his family.
Beyond his commitments to family and faith, Jim enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid gardener whose green thumb brought life to his home, a passionate card player who delighted in games of Euchre and Poker, and a regular visitor to the casino. His legendary stuffing recipe became a staple at family gatherings, a delicious reminder of his thoughtful nature and desire to bring people together.
