Obituary for James P. Wilson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James P. Wilson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on January 19, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on January 1, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, James lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family and friends.

James, a proud welder for General Electric, dedicated his life to his craft in the manufacturing industry. Although his formal education ended after the eighth grade, his remarkable intellect and sharp business acumen were evident to all who knew him. He approached life with a passion that was reflected in everything he did—whether it was sharing a meal he carefully prepared, proudly cheering for his favorite sports teams, or simply engaging in a friendly conversation with a stranger who quickly became a friend.

A devoted family man, James is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Wilson, and their three daughters: Juanita (Mark) Thouin, Judy (Al) Buck, and Jeanette Brinegar. He also adored his grandchildren, Jamie Thouin, Jesse (April) Thouin, Elizabeth (Grant) Williams, Matthew, and Nicole (Jason) Hunley. His legacy will live on in their hearts, as they carry forth the lessons of compassion, kindness, and joy that he imparted throughout the years.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Alberta Wilson.

James was known for his vivacious spirit—he loved playing his horn whenever he had the chance, and he was a fervent fan of NFL and college football, as well as baseball and bowling. Friends and family will fondly remember his passion for cooking and baking, where he often whipped up something delicious to share with everyone he loved.

To honor his life and legacy, a service will take place on January 27, 2025. A public viewing will take place at 10:00am, at the Highview Christian Church located at 2651 Adams Rd, Cincinnati Ohio, 45231. A funeral service celebrating James’s life will follow at 11:00 AM, with a burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens at 12:00pm.

We invite all those who knew and loved James to join us in remembrance and celebrate a life well lived. While our hearts ache in his absence, we take comfort in the countless memories we shared and the love he so generously gave. James P. Wilson will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
