Janice E. Lester

august 10, 1941 – august 22, 2024

Janice E. Lester

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice Elaine Lester, who peacefully entered eternal rest on August 22, 2024, in Loveland, Ohio. Born on August 10, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Janice was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brought joy and warmth to all who knew her.

Janice spent her life dedicated to her family, cherishing every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for singing, sharing her voice in the church choir at Camp Washington church, and enjoyed dancing and family gatherings. Janice’s love for her family was immeasurable, and she found immense delight in being surrounded by her loved ones.

She leaves to cherish her children, Dennis (Lori) Lester and Denise (Daryl) Collins, her grandchildren, Brian, Brandon (Chloe), Derek (Alyana), Dustin (Lyndsie), Dayna (James), Cameron, and Chelsea, her great grandchildren, Kylee, Alyanna, Koda, Payton, Madilynn, and Jay. She also leaves her sisters, Judy Robinson, and Jeanine Slayback.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Anna Reed (nee Williams), her loving husband Charles Lester, and her twin brothers, Jerry and Jim Reed.

Known for her kindness and generosity, Janice had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, always putting their needs above her own. Her love for them was unconditional, and she took great joy in spending time playing cards, teaching games, and sharing precious moments with each of them.

Janice also had a creative side, writing a romantic novel and dabbling in collecting toys from kiddie meals and beanie babies. She had a love for Yorkies, breeding them over the years, and enjoyed indulging in her favorite treat of chocolate fudge and chocolate-covered gels from the Smokies. Her favorite color was blue, and she found solace in the beauty of butterflies.

In her free time, Janice embraced simple pleasures like camping in her pop-up camper, shopping for chocolate deals after the holidays, and watching classic television shows like “Golden Girls.” Her affection for country and gospel music and her fondness for Hallmark channel holiday movies were constants in her life.

As we honor and celebrate Janice’s life, there will be a Visitation at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 5:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm. The Graveside Service will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Meditation on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 11:30 am.

Donations can be made in memory of Janice’s life to Hospice of Cincinnati https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/.

Janice’s memory will live on in the hearts of her daughter, son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who were touched by her caring soul. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the love and warmth she brought into the lives of others. May she rest in peace.
