Jimmie Lyn Woods

Jimmie Lyn Woods, 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026.

Born on February 9, 1941, in Lee County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Earl and Alice Woods.

Jimmie proudly served in the United States Army as a member of the 75th Military Police Detachment, Seine Area Command, Camp des Loges, France, and was honorably discharged. While stationed in France, he met the love of his life, Martine. They were married in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, France, in 1963.

He began his railroad career as a fireman with the Pennsylvania Railroad and later continued his railroad service with Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) and Rail Switching Services. He enjoyed a long career in the railroad industry and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. In his free time, he loved camping with his family, fishing, and feeding his family with his home-grown vegetables. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martine; his sons, Patrick and Jacque (Stacy) Woods; and his cherished granddaughter, Sydney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Alice Woods; his brother, Bill Woods; and his sisters, Sarah and Helen.
