Jimmy B Poynter , age 78, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 25, 1947 to the late Delbert and Verla Poynter (nee Parker).

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Betty Baker, Bobby Poynter and Don Poynter. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Poynter (nee Berry); Wife; Daughter, Amanda (Joey) Newton; Grandchildren, Cody, Bryce, Brooklynn Newton; Brother, Gene (Sue) Poynter. He is also survived by a host of other family members and friends. Gunner, his faithful companion will also miss him.

Jimmy proudly served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Above all Jimmy loved his family and the times spent together.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, 11 AM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211 where a visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service. Interment immediately following at Arlington Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to Toys For Tots or Wounded Warrior Project.
