Kathleen Marie Verity

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Kathleen Marie Verity, who departed this life on May 26, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on February 22, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathleen was a lifelong resident of the area and lived her final years in Harrison, Ohio.

Kathleen was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt, known for her unwavering loyalty, honesty, and generous spirit. She cherished her family above all else, creating cherished memories filled with love and laughter. Kathleen was particularly close to her brother, John (Paige) Reis, her nieces—Lauren (Dan) Wiesmann, Nicole (Nate) Patrick, Lindsay (Josh) Price, and Allison (Kent) Shartzer —who will forever carry her legacy in their hearts.

As a traditional Catholic, Kathleen found joy and solace in her faith, attending Mass at St. Gertrude the Great, where she loved the rich tradition of Latin liturgies. Her faith and commitment to her church community provided her with immense comfort and strength throughout her life.

Professionally, Kathleen was a dedicated Certified Public Accountant at Plattenburg, where she contributed her skills to payroll management, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Her gentle nature and work ethic made her a cherished part of the team.

Kathleen had a creative spirit and a passion for sewing. In her earlier years, she lovingly crafted her own clothing, later transitioning to alterations that brought comfort and style to her family and friends. She was also renowned for her baking, especially her delectable chocolate brownie cake, a dish that will forever evoke fond memories of family gatherings and sleepovers at Grandma’s house. The aroma of her baking will be a lasting reminder of her love and devotion. Aunt Kathy also loves to cherish her great niece, Brooklyn Wiesmann and great nephews, Silas and Jacob Patrick.

Throughout her life, Kathleen embraced the joy of travel, embarking on annual trips with family that created lifelong memories. Among her favorite destinations was Michigan, and her love for adventure began after a high school graduation trip to Hawaii.

Kathleen’s life will be celebrated with compassion and warmth by those who knew her. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Latin Mass at 11:00 AM, commemorating her life and faith. The procession to Arlington Memorial Gardens will follow at 12:15 PM, where a graveside service will commence at 1:00 PM.

In honor of Kathleen’s enduring spirit, we invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering a life well-lived—filled with love, laughter, and grace. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Elizabeth Reis, and her brother John Reis.
