Laverne (Davidson) Land passed away in her Granger home on February 21, 2025 at the age of 86 with her family by her side. Laverne was born on December 5, 1938 in Manchester, Kentucky and her family moved to Cincinnati when she was three years of age. She was a loving wife, mother, friend and homemaker. Laverne married Albert (Al) Land on May 3, 1958 in Cincinnati Ohio, they were married for 66 years and nine months. She was an extremely loving and devoted wife. Laverne and Al resided in Cincinnati until they were transferred to Chicago in 1983. From Chicago the family was again transferred to Granger, where she has resided since 1986. She attended high school in Cincinnati and worked in the education field and continued working in education while in Chicago. While in Granger Laverne worked in human resources with Ameritech/AT&T until retirement in 1993.
In 1962 Laverne and Al were blessed with the birth of their loving daughter Pamela Jane. Raising her only child Pam to be the daughter she is today was Laverne’s most heartfelt job. Laverne and Al were members of the Knollwood Country Club for 32 years. She didn’t care much for golf but enjoyed the clubs many other social amenities. One of her favorite activities was spending time in the yard and caring for her flowers. She loved her family, and I truly believe that one of her most enjoyable days of the week was our Friday-night family game night, playing Euchre and other games. Left to cherish the memory of Laverne are her husband Al, daughter Pam and son in law Doug Church, along with her remaining four siblings, all located in various states. Laverne will be missed every hour of every day and every day of every year.
