Obituary for Lawrence Hall Brooks Jr.

Lawrence Hall Brooks Jr., a devoted husband, proud father, and esteemed colleague, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on June 5, 1949, Lawrence made his mark on the world through his unwavering dedication and spirited nature. A resident of West Chester, Ohio, he leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Lawrence bravely served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War, embodying the values of courage and honor that define our heroes. Following his service, he transitioned into a fulfilling career as a Supervisor at CKS Packaging, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His colleagues admired him for his leadership and ability to inspire those around him.

Outside of work, Lawrence found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer, often relishing the challenge of the course and the camaraderie it brought with friends and family. His evenings were often spent relaxing in front of the television, where he enjoyed immersing himself in various shows, including Cutlery Corner. Lawrence also enjoyed collecting knives. Though he was quiet, he will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Lawrence is survived by his loving spouse of 33 years, Ramona Brooks; his daughters, Shauna Crowe and Shannon Brooks; his son, Larry Brooks; his sister, Pamela Brooks; and his cherished niece, Margie Adams, and nephew, Michael Adams. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and will remember him for his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Brooks Sr. and Leo Ida Brooks, sisters, Jeannine Adams, Janice Shafer, and Patricia Mahoney, as well as brother, Jack Brooks.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 at 2:30pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. Family and friends will meet at the Family Gathering Area in the cemetery at 2:15pm.
