Linda Ann Frey

january 27, 1952 – october 9, 2025

Linda Ann Frey

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Ann Frey, who left us on October 9, 2025. Born on January 27, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.

Linda graduated from Xavier University in 1974, where she began her professional journey that spanned over three decades at Fifth Third Bank. Although she started as an educator, teaching grade school, her career in banking allowed her to connect with countless individuals in her community.

A proud graduate of McAuley High School and a student at St. Ann School in Groesbeck, Linda maintained a lifelong love for learning and family. She cherished the bonds she shared with her sister, Susan, and her brother, Lawrence. Linda’s warm spirit will be deeply missed by her nephew, Jeffrey Frey, and niece, Erin Rosenbalm.

Linda had a passion for travel, exploring beautiful destinations with her friends and sister. Some of her most cherished adventures included trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and a memorable journey through the Panama Canal, which was the last trip she was able to take. Her love for dogs and culinary skills shone through as she delighted family and friends with her cooking, sharing beloved German recipes passed down from her mother.

Raised Catholic and deeply devoted to her family, Linda’s life was a testament to love, compassion, and connection. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of Linda’s life and the love she shared will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Friends and family are invited to gather for a service at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the red line upon entering the memorial park), where we will honor her memory and the beautiful impact she had on our lives. A visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Linda would have loved for us to come together, share stories, and celebrate the joy she brought into our lives.

Preceded in death by her parents, Frank W. Frey Jr. and Eva Frey (nee Fassel), maternal grandparents, Peter and Elizabeth Fassel, her paternal grandparents, Frank Sr. and Anna Frey, as well as her nephew Christopher Frey and sister-in-law Andrea Frey. Linda now joins her cherished family in eternal peace.

In lieu of flowers, we invite guests to make a charitable donation to the charity of your choice that reflects Linda’s spirit and love for community.

Rest in peace, dear Linda. You will be forever missed, and your memory will live on in all our hearts.

“I’m sorry we couldn’t make Linda’s service because we’re in Italy all month. I did light a candle for her in St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. While we may be far away, the California cousins still have a warm spot in our heart for our Cincinnati family. Linda was such a pleasant person and will always be remembered as such. We’re glad Marty was there to represent and send our best wishes to Susan, Larry and the rest of the clan.”

“Wishing I was there with you for the celebration of life story of our dear Cousin Linda. Our parents stayed close after moving from Ohio to California. They would take the Helmsin clan (myself, and three brothers cross country from California to Ohio. Once we arrived we enjoyed each and every moment connecting with everyone – lots of laughter, stories, great food and feeling the family love. Linda was always kind and had a big smile a big hug and a great little laugh! I will cherish those happy memories and the love she shared. Rest in Peace — until we meet again for a warm hug sweet Cousin :-)”

“So sorry to learn about the passing of Linda. We were First Cousins. Spent a lot of holidays with her and her family in my first 18 years. Brother Lawrence was and continues to be my bestest buddy for many years. Sister Susan has always been wonderful. Linda was always happy, cheerful and fun to be around. I have not lost many cousins, so this is quite upsetting. RIP Linda, we are all going to miss you.”

“We will forever love and remember you Linda. As cousins we spent much time together when we were younger, spending the night at each other’s houses. Then when we were older we would call each other on our birthdays that were a month apart. A fond memory, Love you, and RIP”
