Lonnia A. Meadors, a cherished soul whose life was a testament to faith, love, and unwavering kindness, passed peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Blue Ash, OH. Born on April 20, 1931, in Harlan, KY, Lonnia embodied the grace and strength of a woman who walked humbly but carried a heart wide open to all.
Lonnia’s journey through life was beautifully simple yet profoundly impactful. Though she had no formal education, describing her wisdom as a product of the “School of Life,” she imparted lessons far beyond any classroom. Her 35 years of dedicated work at the Plastic Molding Company reflected her steadfast commitment and tireless spirit. She retired with pride from a career of service and integrity.
Known for her very giving nature, Lonnia was a woman who genuinely cared and loved her family deeply. With a God-fearing heart, she endeavored always to live by the Gospel, inspiring others to see the best in every situation. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth and welcoming words: her favorite send-offs were “be careful” and the open invitation to “stop by anytime and stay awhile,” a true reflection of her generous soul.
Lonnia found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved sitting on the porch, quietly watching the world go by, cherishing the festive glow of Christmas through gift-giving, and delighting in her favorite treats — Butterfingers, Tootsie Roll pops, double mint gum, and very hot coffee. She was also a devoted fan of Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback, sharing in the excitement of each game.
Her proudest accomplishments were her loving family: her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and her lasting legacy. Though Lonnia now rests in her eternal home, her memory shines brightly through her beloved daughter, Judy (Meadors) Lawwill, and son-in-law, Jack Lawwill; her treasured sister, Della Rogers; grandchildren Joseph, Jeff, Renae, and Robby Meadors; and granddaughters-in-law Liz (Schulman) Lawwill and Erin (Hermes) Lawwill. Her great-grandchildren Megan (Doug) Dorsel (nee Lawwill), Joee Lawwill, Jakob Lawwill, Miles Lawwill, and Camille Lawwill continue to carry her spirit forward with love and admiration.
Lonnia was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Boyd Q. Meadors, and her son, Bobby Meadors. She also joins her parents, Crumbley and Calvina (nee Engle) Saylor, and her many siblings and in-laws: brothers John, LB, Carl, Isam Engle; sisters Lois, JoAnn Hensley, Betty Gibbons, Cora Engle, Loretta Engle; brother-in-law Roscoe Gibbons; brother-in-law Essie Hensley; brother-in-law William Rogers; and sisters-in-law Mary Lou Engle and Geneva Engle.
Her departure was not marked by sorrow alone, but by a serene acceptance—Lonnia decided it was time to go to her eternal home, leaving behind a world forever touched by her gentle spirit.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lonnia’s life at a visitation on March 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until noon, followed by a funeral service from noon to 1:00 p.m., at Southland Missionary Baptist Church, 2485 Springdale Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231. At the conclusion of the service, Lonnia will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
Though Lonnia may no longer be with us in body, her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. May her soul rest peacefully, embraced by the eternal light she so cherished.
