Obituary Via Frederick Funeral Home

In loving memory of Marilyn Young, who was a devout Catholic, a caring sister, a beloved aunt, and a devoted friend. Marilyn was born on June 2, 1931, and peacefully passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 93. She was a treasured soul who touched the lives of many, may we come together to celebrate her remarkable life.

Marilyn was more than just a beloved member of her family; she was a beacon of light to all who knew her. A devoted Catholic, her faith guided her through life and was evident in her caring nature. As a sister to the late Jack Young, late Ralph Young, and late Richard Young, Marilyn cherished the bonds of family, and she took pride in her role as a dear aunt to Richard (fiancé Lynn) Young and the late Debra Zur.

Marilyn was a dear friend and life long roommate to the late Mary (Maureen) Maguire. As an extension of her life long friendship with Mary (Maureen), she was an extension of their family for the last seventy years. Mary’s (Maureen) niece Jennifer took great care of Marilyn for the last year of her life. Marilyn retired from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati at 45 years. Then spent another sixteen years working for Legatus.

Marilyn’s home was a gathering place, where her love for cooking beautiful meals and entertaining brought joy and warmth to those fortunate enough to share in her company. Her spirit of adventure led her to travel, exploring the world she delighted in experiencing new places and cultures, only to return with stories that captivated those around her. Her laughter and kindness will be fondly remembered by family and friends alike as she will be missed dearly.

A visitation will be held in her honor at St. Ignatius Church, 5222 N Bend Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45247 on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10:30 AM, allowing friends and family to gather and celebrate her life. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 AM, where we will come together to share memories and bid farewell to this remarkable woman. Together, let us reflect on the memories, lessons, and love she imparted to us, remembering a life well-lived and a heart ever generous. May her spirit continue to inspire us, and may we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with her. Rest in peace, dear Marilyn. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
