Mary Ella Cole (born Bishop) peacefully departed this earth on February 9th, 2026, at 77 years of age. 

Mary was born on March 16, 1948, in Hazard, Kentucky. She was the 7th of 11 children, with 5 sisters and 5 brothers. She attended North College Hill High School and ultimately received her diploma in Cooking from Lifetime Career Schools.

Mary was married to Ronald Cole on May 11th, 1968. The pair was happily married for 58 years and had two children.

Mary worked as a cook at Mt. Healthy Christian Home. Even after her time in the workforce ended, Mary continued pursuing her passion for cooking for many years. In addition to cooking, Mary also enjoyed reading books and magazines and spending time with her family. She was a kind and caring mother, grandmother, wife, and friend who took care of others for as long as she was able. She had an unparalleled ability to make others laugh through her words and actions. Furthermore, her zest for life and mental fortitude are inspirational to all who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Jason and Lucille Bishop; her brothers, Raymond Paul and Clyde Louis; and her sister Barbara Joyce. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Cole; her daughter, Melissa (Scott); her son, Dennis; and her grandchildren, Micah, Derek, and Alexander. She is also survived by her sisters, Sonjia (Henry), Virginia (Odell), Elnora (Kelsey), and Louanna (Louis); her brothers, Eddie (Brenda), Mathew, and Bobby (Lisa); and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home – Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy  (45231). Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another’s company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

She will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Mt. Healthy, Ohio 45231.
