Mary Mava Lohman

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Mava Lohman. Born on August 6, 1933, in Cincinnati, OH, Mary peacefully departed from this world on April 15, 2024, holding the hand of her son David.

Throughout her life, Mary was a beacon of love and grace, finding joy in the simplicity of life’s pleasures. A dedicated office manager in the logistics industry at Schroder Trucking, Mary’s commitment and work ethic shone brightly in all she did.

Mary cherished her family more than anything else. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her sons David (Anita) and Ralph (Debbie), her sister Midge (the late Bob), as well as her grandchildren, Rebecca (Ricky), David M., Ralph M. (Dawn), and Stacey (Dan). Great-grandchildren, Ricky, Juliette, and Savannah whom she adored endlessly. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Lohman, her parents, Bill and Flora Soupe, her brother Billy Soupe and her sister Loretta Bacon

A woman of faith, Mary found solace and purpose in her church, where she actively participated in the prayer chain and found comfort in crafting prayer shawls for others. She had a passion for cooking, known for her delicious turkey dressing and homemade chicken noodle soup, which brought warmth and nourishment to all she knew.

A gentle soul with a heart of gold, Mary was blessed with a pleasant voice that will linger in our memories forever. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all she encountered.

Mary’s commitment to family and love for life will be forever cherished. She will always be remembered for her unwavering dedication, humility, and the light she brought into the world.

“I miss you so much grandma. It is hard to believe that you are gone. I will miss our talks on the phone and texting back and forth with you. Little Ricky loved to talk to you about the old days and about the Bible. He was just reading the Bible that you gave him last night. You were the best grandma to us grandkids, the best anyone could ever imagine. We all love you so much and miss you dearly. Rest in peace with grandpa. We Love you, Becky, Rick and Ricky”

“Hello mom. I miss you more than you know. I know you are up there with dad and the rest of your family having a blast, but I want you to know how much I love you and that you will always be with me. I hope you know how much I cherish the times we went out together and that I will never forget them.”

“I hope you are at peace now grandma and are sitting in a comfortable rocking chair or swing next to grandpa by the ocean. I will never forget the smell of your house, the pink lipstick you always wore, your magic bag we got to pick from when we were little, and your warm hugs. The list of my memories go on and on. No birthday or holiday will ever be the same without you. We will miss you greatly but we hope you are at peace now. Love you grandma ❤ Love, Stacey, Daniel, Juliette, Savannah Cooley”

“You were always the best Mother to all of us. You were always there for us if we needed advice or just needed to talk. We always had so much fun together on birthdays, holidays, and vacations. Our fondest memories are the trips we took together at the campgrounds in the Smokies, Myrtle Beach, and Florida. We miss you so much but we know you are with Dad now and are very happy. You will always and forever be in our hearts. Love you always Mom. Ralph and Debbie 4/24/24”

“,Peace and Love go with you cousin Mary. What a wonderful life you have had. Allen and Pat”
