With heavy hearts and fond memories, we celebrate the life of Maureen Cox, born on February 16, 1941, in Cincinnati, OH, Maureen passed away on March 3, 2024, surrounded by family and love in her home. She is survived by daughter Monica Cox and Thomas Smart.
Maureen, also known as Mo, was a loving mother and best friend for daughter Monica, devoted friend, and hardworking professional, who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Throughout her years, she dedicated her time and energy to her daughter, family and her career in accounting and administrative assistant positions.
Family was paramount to Mo, and she treasured the special moments shared with Monica and Tom. In addition to her immediate family, Maureen found immense happiness in the company of her cousins, Steven and Sandra Hronek, residing in Jacksonville, NC. Their memories together will forever be cherished.
Mo’s passions were as diverse as her spirit. From cheering on Xavier basketball games to rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals, she held a deep love for sports. In her free time, she found solace in tending to her gardens and spending time with her beloved cats, especially her favorite, Samantha, who provided comfort during challenging times.
Her faith was unwavering, and Mo was a member of St. Ann Church in Groesbeck, Ohio, where she found solace and community. On days out, she relished the atmosphere at Quaker Steak and Lube, indulging in the delicious food, adult beverages and lively activities that filled the space.
Mo’s shining light will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her best, especially her dear friend Monica, a bond that stood the test of time.
In honor of Mo’s life, a Visitation will take place at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line to the left upon entering the memorial park) on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 9:30 AM.
