A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mazella Myers, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully left this world on October 18, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 77.
Mazie was born in Cincinnati on September 7, 1949, and she devoted much of her life to being the treasurer at North College Hill High School for 23 years. She was a pillar of strength and unwavering support within her family. Mazie is survived by her daughter, Nicole (Tim) Newman, and son, Nick (Rachel) Myers; her loving grandchildren, Isaiah Myers, Chaypin Newman, Corban Newman, Everly Myers, Maci Shad, and Aria Shad; her great-grandchild, Isaiah Myers Jr.; and her dear sister, Mary Ellison.
Mazie was known for her infectious spirit and deep love for family. She adored playing cards and games with her grandchildren and was always their biggest cheerleader, attending their games and performances with enthusiasm. Music filled her life, and she loved nothing more than dancing to her favorite tunes from the ’50s and ’60s. A selfless soul, she often put others before herself and was always ready to lend a helping hand, particularly to her grandchildren. For them, her snack drawer—filled with oatmeal cream pies, Oreos, and cosmic brownies, to name a few. Her favorites, however, were Diet Mountain Dew, Coke Zero, peanut M&Ms, Crunch and Munch, and Grippo’s Barbeque Chips!
Her faith was paramount in her life. A strong believer in Christ, Mazie enjoyed singing in church and spent many joyful years as a Sunday school teacher, sharing the Word of God with young hearts. Family vacations were a highlight for her, from trips to New York and Rhode Island to days at Disney and relaxing getaways in Gatlinburg and Florida.
To honor her beautiful life, a visitation will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on October 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a family viewing at 3:30 PM. A heartfelt funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM. On November 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM, a graveside service will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens, where we will lay her to rest.
Mazella Myers touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and love. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she inspired.
Rest in peace, dear Mazie. Your legacy of love and laughter will live on in all of us.
Mazie was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Myers, her parents, Ralph and Ruth McAninch, and her sister, Marcella Tartar.

“Dear Nicole & Nick – We were so very sorry to hear of the passing your mother. Mazie, and your dad, were two of the most fun, happily married, wonderful people, we have ever known. Heaven has gained another angel. We have so many very fond memories of us as a group along with Joyce and Gary, Gary and Judy, and the rest of the church gang, doing so much fun stuff together. I know she’ll be missed but keep your faith in knowing that we will all be together again someday. We love you both dearly and our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family. All our love, Jerry and Micki.”
