It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mickey Lee Waggoner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Mickey was born on January 9, 1944, in Littlefield, Texas, and he journeyed through life with a spirit full of adventure and a love for the outdoors until he departed this world on January 28, 2026, at the age of 82.

Mickey proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserve, a reflection of his commitment to serving his country. He dedicated 30 years of his career to A.K. Steel, where he worked as a Transportation Analyst, contributing to the steel manufacturing industry with his expertise and diligence.

In his free time, Mickey found happiness in the simple joys of life. He loved fishing, embracing the tranquility of nature, and often indulged in golfing, where he showcased his competitive spirit. A true lover of the outdoors, Mickey had a fondness for cutting the grass.

He is also survived by his children, Jason (Timara) Waggoner and Julie (Brandy) Reed, as well as step-children, Pete Catanzaro and Brian (Daina) Catanzaro. “It was a blessing to be your neighbor, thanks for the many conversations we had. You will be remembered always. Michael”

“Mickey was the first of ten grandchildren born to Bob and Gracy Ball. We all spent a lot of time together on the Ball farm growing up and it was such a fabulous time together. With Mick being the oldest we all looked up to, and admired him so much. My older brother Mike looked up to Mickey more like an older brother than a cousin when we were growing up, he thought Mickey was just the coolest. There were five years difference in their age but were very close as youngsters. Mike left us in 2014. Mike was born on January 28 th 1949. It is ironic that Mickey went to be with him on his birthday. Rip Mickey Lee Waggner. I was blessed to be a part of your family.”
