**Obituary for Mitchell Stephen Oborn**

Mitchell Stephen Oborn, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on February 14, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitch lived his entire life in the city he loved, known for his warm smile and generous spirit.

Mitch was an accomplished engineer, dedicating his career to the aerospace industry with General Electric. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his passion for technology and innovation. He took immense pride in his accomplishments and was respected by his colleagues for his expertise and dedication.

Outside of work, Mitch was a devoted family man. He cherished his time with his three children—Shaun (Carmen) Oborn, Andrew (Carly) Oborn, and Carlee Korb. His grandchildren—Hunter Oborn, Thomas Oborn, Audrey Oborn, Aaron Oborn, Kyle Menkhaus, Devon Hanavan, and Bryce Korb—were a source of immense joy for him, and he loved to share stories and adventures with them. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Kimberly (Mike) Newman and Kristin Bartunek.

Mitch was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Oborn.

Mitch found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A passionate fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds, he could often be found cheering for his teams from the comfort of his home or at the ballpark. He enjoyed playing softball and loved listening to live music, relishing the vibrant connections that come with community and friendship. He had a green thumb and found peace in gardening and nurturing his plants, often spending time outdoors and enjoying nature’s beauty.

Mitch also had a special bond with his dogs, particularly his beloved Pepper, who brought him joy and companionship. His adventurous spirit led him on various trips out west, where he reveled in the beauty of the great outdoors.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18th, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE Line). A memorial service will follow at 11:00am.

A celebration of life for Mitch will be held at a later date.

As we remember Mitchell Stephen Oborn, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with those he held dear. He will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
