ALEXANDRIA, IN – Nancy Lee (Achterman) Speeg, 86, entered peace and rest from Alexandria Health and Rehabilitation on Thursday, April 2, 2026, following an extended illness.
She was born on August 8, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Hubert and Alberta (Moore) Achterman. She was a graduate of Norwood High School-Class of 1957. She retired as a legal secretary from a private law practice. Nancy was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Anderson and the Lydia Circle of the church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and was a skilled seamstress, sewing many quilts and clothing items, including her daughter’s wedding dress. Nancy was a very generous and supportive woman.

Sister-in-law Marie Funke of Xenia, Ohio
Many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy J. Speeg in 1995, and her brother, James Achterman.
The Speeg family will receive family and friends on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9 am to 11am in Arlington Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. Interment will immediately follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens at Cincinnati.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in Nancy’s memory.
Nancy’s care and service arrangements have been entrusted to Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
