Nora Mae Miller, a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 10, 1934, in Nevelsville, Kentucky, the third of seven children. She made her home in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, with her loving husband Bill.
Nora was married to her devoted husband, William (“Bill”) Miller, for 44 wonderful years. She is survived by her daughters Debra (Jamie) Hall, Nancy (David) Falk, Billie (John) Heinold, and her son Randall Phillips, and their loving families, including her cherished grandchildren Nathan Hall, Randi Dunigan, Jordan Hall, and Audra Billmeyer, as well as her brother Noah (Esther) Tucker and her sister Margaret “Ann” (Stanford) Wong.
Throughout her life, Nora was an active spirit, embracing adventures from hiking outdoors to fishing. She and Bill loved to travel from coast to coast, but her heart always found its way back to her beloved home, where her vibrant garden flourished with flowers, which brought her immense satisfaction. Later in life, Nora delighted in the companionship of her rescued dogs, Alley and Sadie, who brought her endless joy and comfort.
An excellent cook, Nora was known for her delicious chocolate and peanut butter fudge as well as her famous chocolate pie, which brought smiles to gatherings and family celebrations. In addition to her culinary talents, she enjoyed being part of the local bowling leagues in her earlier years, crocheting, and devouring books when she had the chance.
Nora was deeply rooted in her faith, having been raised in a strong Christian environment. An avid Bible reader, she embraced her spirituality wholeheartedly, sharing her passion as a Sunday School teacher and a trusted volunteer at Vacation Bible School after her retirement. Nora’s love for music touched her soul, and she found joy in the tunes of country legends, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and gospel hymns.
