Mihovk Rosenacker Funeral Home is assisting the Family

Obituary via Mihovk Rosenacker Funeral Home

Patrick Lawson Taylor passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2023 at the age of 85.  He was proudly married to Bonnie Lynn (nee Stapleton) for over 45 years before she preceded him to the afterlife.  Devoted father of six children Traci L (Christopher) Szaz, Michael P Taylor, Amy T Smith, Mark (Vickie) Taylor, Bari Colebrook and Kellie (Dan) Buzek.  Loving grandfather to 15 grandchildren – Taylor (Nick), Summer, CJ, Zach, Max, Xander, Madden, Patrick, Nick, Brittany, David, Molly (Sam), Lindsey, Matt and Alison.

He was the CEO of GE Credit Union for over 40 years and spent a total of 57 years helping to grow the company into one of Ohio’s largest credit unions.  He encouraged people to “love what you do”. Pat led a joyful life and was proud of his family, the growth of GECU and the way that he interacted with people from all backgrounds.

Pat was known throughout Cincinnati for his passion and generosity.

Provided thought leadership to help grow and transform credit unions.

Was a boater and car enthusiast and helped numerous people finance their dreams.

Shared his joy of life with the several local establishments and wait staff by sharing his humor.

Was a people person and lived by the mantra of trying to help make people lives better.

He was born near Jellico TN to the late Paul and Grace Taylor and had three siblings who have preceded him in death (Paul, Harry and Diane).  He attended Norwood High School and had fond memories of the drama program which helped to prepare him as a leader and public speaker.  He started at GE Credit Union as a teller and worked in multiple areas before being named CEO at age 37 due to his vision and people skills.  He had a very consistent leadership team for over 30 years which helped to propel the company from $20M to nearly $2B during his tenure.  He was the president of the Ohio Credit Union League and heavily engaged in transforming credit unions across the country.

Although Pat was an industry leader and CEO, he had a huge soft side and enjoyed helping to improve the lives of people on a daily basis.  His leadership helped to provide funds for people to buy their first house, boat or car.   He would tell jokes to strangers and wanted people to feel better after interacting with him.  He would often say, “it costs us nothing to be nice to people.” His humor, infectious smile, and unwavering kindness carried him through life.
