Paul Carroll Duncan

Obituary for Paul Carroll Duncan

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Carroll Duncan, aged 76, who departed this life on August 1, 2025, in Hamilton, Ohio. Born on July 27, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, Paul lived a life characterized by dedication, service, faith, and love for his family.

Paul dedicated over 35 years of his life to the United States Marine Corps, serving both as an active-duty member and a civilian, specializing as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Expert. His time in the Marine Corps included a tour during the Vietnam War, where his commitment to duty and his country was unwavering.

A meticulous man, Paul approached life with an extraordinary level of care, always writing things down, ensuring he completed every task with precision and pride. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cultivating his yard, planting trees, recording memories through photography, or indulging in his love for woodworking.

Paul’s passion extended beyond work; he cherished time spent with his grandchildren-William, Wyatt, and Devon-who brought him immense joy. Countless hours were spent playing card games, especially Pinochle, as he generated laughter and love at family gatherings. His spirited adventures included family trips to air shows, travels with his wife Donna to New Mexico and Arizona after retirement, and memorable outings to Chesapeake Bay for endless crab legs.

Alongside his devotion to family, Paul held a deep faith and commitment to God and his country. With every departure from home, he left his loved ones with a heartfelt “toot toot” of his car horn, a simple but affectionate signal that he would always carry them in his heart. His playful “Love you more!” became his signature words of endearment.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife who he affectionately referred to as his “Doll”, Donna Duncan, sons Paul (Valerie) Duncan and David (Doris Salamandra) Daniels, grandchildren, William Duncan, Wyatt Duncan, and Devon Daniels, siblings David (Nancy) Duncan, Pamela Bennett, and Elaine Dreager. His legacy will continue through his family and all whose lives he touched.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Evelyn Duncan, and brothers, Edward Duncan and Thomas Duncan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
