Richard E. Lucas, affectionately known as Rick, was born on June 15, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and sadly left this world on January 7, 2026. Throughout his impactful life, Rick embodied the spirit of dedication, love, and creativity.

An accomplished engineer, Rick’s first career laid the foundation for what would become his true passion—photography. He started a successful photography business in 1970 called Queen City Photography & Video. With a keen eye for detail and an innate ability to capture the essence of life’s fleeting moments, he became a cherished photographer to many. He took great pride in enabling families to preserve the joyful memories of their most special days, particularly in the enchanting world of weddings. Each click of his camera not only captured images but also resonated with love and emotion, forever freezing time for those lucky enough to have crossed his path. Sadly Rick had to close his photography business after suffering another stroke.

Beyond his career, Rick was a true friend and a devoted family man, always ready to lend a hand or share a warm smile. His personality radiated kindness; he embraced life by valuing the connections he cultivated with those around him. It was this unwavering commitment to helping others that endeared him to many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends.

Rick had an adventurous spirit, exemplified by his love for Harley motorcycles and cars, especially his prized Corvette. This passion for speed and the open road mirrored his zest for life.

He leaves behind a loving family who cherished him deeply: his devoted wife, Dona G. Lucas (nee Momberg); his daughter, Christi (Rob) Bush; grandchildren Weston (Madison Grau), Morgan (Alex Neville), and Jacob (Grace Aug) Bush; great grandchildren Charles and Gracelynn who are the children of Morgan and Alex, and Brielle who is the daughter of Weston and Madison—all of whom were inspired by his warmth and creativity. Rick is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and many friends who will remember him for his generous spirit.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Lucas, who undoubtedly instilled in him the same kindness and determination that defined his life.

Rick’s memory will be honored through visitation on January 15, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, located at 2880 Boudinot Ave, Cincinnati, OH. A funeral service will follow on January 16, 2026, at 10 AM at the same location.

As we gather to celebrate the life of this remarkable man, we are reminded of all the joy he brought to others and the beauty he found in the world around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and the moments he so astutely captured. If desired, memorial donations may be made to: Delhi Fire and EMS.
