Obituary via Hodapp Funeral Home

Robert Louis “Bob” Hesse Sr. was born on May 28, 1924, to W. Fred and Thelma (Fuller) Hesse in Columbus, Ohio. After moving to Cincinnati during his school age years, Bob attended Withrow High School and eventually earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio in 1946. After graduation, he married his college sweetheart, Mary Alice Herron, on August 17, whom he met during her tenure as an assistant college librarian.

They initially made their home in Schenectady, NY, where Bob began his brief career with General Electric. The following year, the couple returned to the Cincinnati area, where Bob began his 40 year career with Proctor and Gamble.

Bob and Mary Alice welcomed two children, Debbie and Robert, into the world and established their family home in Finneytown. Bob transitioned through many roles at P&G including his role as a buyer for the specialized equipment for the first Pampers and Pringles lines.

Upon retirement, Bob and Mary Alice enjoyed traveling, playing golf, biking with friends, their extended stays in Naples, FL, and opening their hearts and home to a growing number of family members, including four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Bob lived out his faith, showing Christ’s love to his family and friends.  He served as an Elder at Covenant First Presbyterian Church and Northminster Presbyterian Church. Bob and Mary Alice served the Lord together starting in their own home with their family and church, then building relationships with many missionaries and organizations throughout their lives. Bob spent his whole life putting himself last and Christ first, pointing everyone he could towards Jesus Christ his Savior. Bob and Mary Alice openly shared their testimony with others.
