Ron Marks

Obituary for Gerald “Ron” Ronald Marks

Gerald “Ron” Ronald Marks, age 86, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on September 13, 2025. Born on April 27, 1939, in Georgetown, Ohio, Ron led a life rich with family, passion, and a remarkable talent for fixing things. As a dedicated machine adjuster at Procter & Gamble, Ron spent many years honing his skills, proving that there was virtually nothing he couldn’t repair or create.

A man of many talents, Ron took great pride in his ability to build and restore. One of his cherished projects was a beloved Jeep, a testament to his hands-on spirit and ingenuity. In addition to his mechanical prowess, Ron was an avid antique enthusiast, immersing himself in the buying and selling of unique treasures. His love for antiques was a reflection of his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the stories woven into each object.

Above all, Ron cherished the time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband to Barbara Marks and a caring father to Lisa (Greg) Smith and Jeffrey (Tony) Marks. Known as “Grandpa” to his grandchildren, Matthew (Mallory) Smith and Nathan (Dylan) Smith, and great-grandson, Finley Smith, he consistently found joy in creating memories with them, enriching their lives with the lessons he learned through years of love and labor. Ron is also survived by his sister, Marsha Moon, who carries fond memories of their time together. His legacy of resilience, creativity, and warmth will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19th, 2025 from 9:30-10:30am at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. “I always respected Mr. Marks. I hung around Lisa and Jeff in our younger days. I always knew where I stood when I would visit. He would always make sure I got home safe when I would leave. Didn’t matter if I was on my pony, bike, or on foot. Even though I was only two doors down. Then again that was on country roads. My thoughts and prayers are with you Mrs. Marks, Lisa and Jeff.”

“My deepest sympathies to Barb, Lisa, and Jeff. Ron was a wonderful friend and neighbor. Ron will never be forgotten. May God comfort and surround you with His love. Sue Slusher”
