Obituary via Thomas Justin Funeral Home

Teddy C. McCullum, 83 of Reily Township, Ohio, (formerly of Mt. Orab,) passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Teddy was born on September 11, 1942, in Florence, Alabama to the late William and Opal McCullum (nee Keeton).

He attended Norwood High School and then enlisted to serve in the United States Navy in November 1963 where he was aboard the USS Littlehales AGSC-15 specializing in hydrographic and oceanographic surveying. He was responsible for maintaining and repairing the ships engine and auxiliary machinery as it performed surveys along the Tongue of the Ocean (TOTO) area.

Teddy married his wife Annas Hoover on June 3rd, 1966, and raised their four children in Norwood Ohio.

Some of his years working were spent at Cedar Hill Farms Dairy as a delivery driver, Professional Telecommunication Services performing installations and he retired from Sofco Erectors, working as a steel fabricator.

He was a member and attended Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Orab Ohio where he continued to grow his relationship with Jesus. He cherished spending time with family and friends, was a skilled fisherman, designed and installed beautiful hard and wetscape structures and had a passion for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Teddy enjoyed small talk and fun times. A perfect weekend get together would be riding his bike to a cookout, having a cold beer and playing horseshoes or cornhole. He was also great at playing pool. One of his favorite things to do was to bring smiles to children. He would dress as Santa Clause during Christmas. Even throughout the year, children would run up to him, and he would hand them a candy cane and instruct them to be good for their parents. It made Teddy happy, to see others happy.

He is survived by his children: Tammy Peck (Greg), Cindy Ditmyer (Charles), Ginger McCullum-Hamilton (Bob) and Edward McCullum (Sheila), grandchildren: Jillian Peck (Josh), Steven Tallent (Brandy), Scott Tallent, Sarah Ditmyer, Chase Ditmyer, Loren Cowdrey, Ross Hamilton, Chris Hughes and Tonya, great-grandchildren: Autmn, Lane, Travis, Johnathon, Bentley, Aryanna, Aliza, Camryn, Corey, Ava, Lillian, Birdie, and Jayden, as well as numerous close nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his forever loving first wife Annas McCullum, second wife Rebecca Jenkins, his father, William McCullum, mother, Opal Sanderson, dad, Frank Sanderson, dear sister, Catherine, granddaughter, Annie, and grandson, Timothy.
