Thelma Lydia Slaybaugh Renner was born Feb 5, 1918 in Akron, Indiana. She was the fourth of  five children of Howard and Sadie Slaybaugh. She graduated from Huntington High School and went to business school for 1 year. Thelma married Donald Wayne Renner in 1941 and divorced in 1963. She and Donald had four children together. She was predeceased by her parents and a son, Richard. Thelma worked at various jobs, the last position being with the Food and Drug Administration from 1962 until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed painting flowers, birds, nature scenes and greeting cards as well as crocheting and helping with her grandchildren. In her free time, she loved to read, play games, and walk. Thelma loved Jesus and the Church, and enjoyed being challenged by good Bible studies. Thelma also volunteered for years at College Hill Presbyterian Church and then Evangelical Community Church, now known as Christ Covenant Church. She has been a resident of Twin Towers since 2014. Even with all the hard times in her life, she showed courage and strength through her faith in Jesus Christ.

Thelma is survived by her children: Janet (Vikram) Rajadhyaksha, Wendel (Constance) Renner, and Cheryl (Charles) Lyons. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shyam (Adam Lanter) Rajadhyaksha and Ram (Amy) Rajadhyaksha, Elizabeth (Alex) Hall, Samuel (Heather) Quick, Peter (Kumiko) Renner, Benjamin (Laura) Lyons, Michael (Erin) Lyons, and Rebekah Lyons. Thelma is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren who lovingly called her ‘Gigi’ for Great-Grandma. They are Ellie Rajadhyaksha; Summer, Skyler and Cedar Quick; Clara and Zinnia Hall; Jonathan and Anna Lyons; and Jeremiah, Lydia, Josiah, Joel and Judah Lyons. 

The Visitation will be held at Wilson Chapel, at 1:00 PM on May 19 th , in the Twin Towers facility. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow for those that wish to fellowship with family and others.

The Interment will be open to family at Arlington Memorial Gardens, on Compton Rd
