Viveca “Vi” Ringo

September 18, 1951 – february 20, 2026

Viveca “Vi” Ringo

Viveca “Vi” Williams Ringo was born on September 18, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee. Her family moved several times during her childhood, living in Kentucky, Tennessee, Colorado, and New Mexico, where she learned to make enchiladas—a family favorite for years to come.

While attending the University of Kentucky, she met her future husband, William “Bill,” on a blind date. They were married on May 27, 1972, in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating early with a degree in elementary education, she taught second grade for one year before they relocated to Cincinnati for Bill’s employment.

Once in Cincinnati, they began attending Christ Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Women’s Guild for many years. She was also involved with the Girl Scouts, organizing the first Daisy troop in Cincinnati. In addition, she served for many years as a women’s gymnastics coach and judge.

She could regularly be found supporting her children and grandchildren in their various activities and events. Family was her highest priority, but in her free time she enjoyed going to the movies, quilting, stitching, and researching her family’s genealogy. She had a passion for adventure and travel and most recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling Route 66 with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Bill; her daughters, Teresa Ringo and Alyssa Ellis (Joe); her son, Michael (Emily); nine grandchildren—Samantha, Joel, Elijah, Malena, Mackenzie, Caitlin, Johnny, Graycin, and Charlotte; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Athena; and several cherished pets. She is also survived by her brother, Andrew Williams; her sister, Valerie Taylor; her close family friend, Edith King; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Williams; her mother, Shirley Williams; and her brother, Tyson Williams.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9th, 2026 from 12:30-1:30pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE line). A memorial service will follow at 1:30pm. Burial will take place at 2:30pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
