William Henry Muhlenpoh of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Cincinnati to the late Edward and Jane Muhlenpoh, William led a remarkable life that touched the hearts of many. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen Muhlenpoh in 2011.

William, fondly known as Bill, was a dedicated and passionate individual. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and later embarked on a successful career as the co-owner of his family’s business, Muhlenpoh Plumbing and Heating. Bill’s commitment to providing exceptional service and his unwavering work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and customers alike.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Bill made contributions to his community that will be remembered for generations. He selflessly served as a firefighter and then fire chief for the Arlington Heights Fire Department for 30 years. He made a lasting impact as a council member in Arlington Heights. His dedication to public safety and his tireless efforts to improve the community will forever be cherished.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed his membership in the Retired Fire Chiefs Association, where he fostered lifelong friendships with his fellow firefighters. Additionally, he was a proud member of Woodlawn Guthrie Brothers before its merger with American Legion Post #360. Bill’s passion for music led him to be member of the choir at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Bill’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his children, Debbie (Phil) Hogan, David (Kathy) Muhlenpoh, and Janet (Pat) Delany, his 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and siblings, Jim (Carol) Muhlenpoh and Edward Muhlenpoh, Jr. His legacy of dedication, hard work, and service to others will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Spring Grove Funeral Homes-Reading, 8633 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45215. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 30 W Vine St, Cincinnati, OH 45215. beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be given in Bill’s memory to St. Vincent De Paul.
