Obituary for Annabelle Walden
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Annabelle Walden, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world peacefully on June 28, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on October 8, 1933, in North Carolina, Annabelle lived a life rich in love, devotion, and community, making her mark as a beloved member of her adopted city, St. Bernard, Ohio.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Administration from the University of Cincinnati, Annabelle dedicated over 30 years of her life as a school secretary for the St. Bernard/Elmwood Place School District. Her commitment to education and unwavering support for students and staff alike left an indelible impact, fostering an environment of care and compassion.
Annabelle was a devout member of the Central Parkway Church of God, where her faith guided her actions and illuminated the lives of those around her. A talented pianist, she often shared her gift of music, bringing joy and comfort to family gatherings and church functions alike.
Above all, Annabelle held her family dear to her heart. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Schumacher, and a proud lineage of 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Each family member holds cherished memories of her warmth and wisdom, moments that will forever resonate within their hearts.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Walden, parents, Herman and Clarabelle Laxton, and son, Charles Curtis Walden.
A celebration of life for Annabelle will be held on Friday, July 11th, 2025 from 12:30-2:30pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE Line). Inurnment will take place at 2:30pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens. All in attendance are requested to wear pink, Annabelle’s favorite color.
As we reflect on her journey, we find comfort in the many lives she touched and the love she fostered. Annabelle Walden will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

“She was so kind to me when I was dating John. She stopped me and told me to hang on to him he’s a keeper and she was so right.
