With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Perry Dirr, age 76, on November 30, 2025, with his son and daughter by his side. Born on November 15, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Donald’s life was marked by his deep sense of duty and love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army, honoring his country with commitment and bravery.
Donald built a long and distinguished career with Roadway—earning a Million Mile Accident-Free award—and later retired from the United States Postal Service, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, he cherished his time with loved ones—especially his wife Peggy, before her passing, his children, and his beloved grandchildren. Sundays often found him on the golf course, sharing joyful moments with his son Kevin—a testament to their close bond. He also loved his Saturday nights, enjoying his favorite meals and playing cards with his sister and brother-in-law, creating lasting memories.
Donald is survived by his children, Kevin Dirr and Tammy Dirr; his granddaughters, Ta’Lonziay and Ta’Liyah Dirr; and his sister, Veniece “Ven” (Glen) Cole. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Dirr; his parents, Robert H. Sr. and Edna Dirr; and his brother, Robert H. Dirr Jr.
A man of quiet strength and deep love, Donald will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His smile and that “golden finger” will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE line). A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial immediately following at 12:00 p.m. at the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
Rest in peace, Donald. You will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
