Obituary for August “Gus” Andrew Kraemer
August “Gus” Andrew Kraemer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on January 2, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he spent his life cherishing the relationships that mattered most.
Gus was a proud veteran of the Navy, serving his country with honor and distinction. After his service, he brought the same commitment and diligence to his career in manufacturing, working at International Paper as a cutting and creasing operator for many years. Gus’s steadfast work ethic and attention to detail were admired by his colleagues and served as an inspiration to those around him.
Family was the cornerstone of Gus’s life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Kraemer, and his two daughters, Juneann Tanner, and Angela James. He was a proud grandfather to Michael Bunner, Michelle Bunner, Meagan Sweeney, Britney Salazar, Matthew Appel, Robert James, and Nickolas Burck, and delighted in the joy of his 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Charlene Anderson as well as many nieces and nephews. His family was his pride and joy, and he loved spending time with them, creating treasured memories that will live on in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Kraemer Sr. and Eleanore Kraemer.
Gus had a passion for golf, often found on the course, where he enjoyed both the game and the camaraderie. He approached life with a warm smile and a generous spirit, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
