HAS OCCURRED
Howard Charles Boorom, a dedicated firefighter, veteran, and family man, passed away on August 13, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 87. Born on December 1, 1938, in Cincinnati, Howard spent his life serving others, beginning with his four years in the United States Marine Corps and continuing through a commendable 29-year career as a firefighter with the Cincinnati Fire Department. He was also a skilled Respiratory Therapist at Christ Hospital, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to helping those in need.
Howard was known for his adventurous spirit, enjoying fishing and shooting, and was a proud member of the U.S.S Canberra Reunion Association. In his younger years, he was an avid swimmer and diver.
He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Boorom and Tracy Boorom; his brothers, Kenneth Boorom and William (Linda) Boorom; his cherished nieces and nephews, Joe (Casandra) Boorom, Nicholas Boorom, and Kelly Boorom, dear friend of 40 years, Deanna Kleinfelter, and friends, Vic (Becky) Kleinfelter, Jody Kleinfelter, and Natalie Kleinfelter.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen Boorom, sister-in-law, Carol Boorom, and niece, Julie Stanbury.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 20th, 2026 from 12:00-2:00pm at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE line). A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will take place at 2:30pm at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
