**Obituary for Leandrew “Lee” Lewis**
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Leandrew “Lee” Lewis, who left this world on December 30, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on April 28, 1954, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Lee was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he cultivated a loving home and a close-knit family.
Lee proudly earned his high school diploma from Taft High School before embarking on a dedicated career as a Railroad Technician for CSX. He joined the company on August 27, 1973, and traveled throughout the country until his retirement on June 2, 2014. His marriage to Charlotte Lewis was a true testament to love and companionship that blossomed over their 25 years together, a bond formed through their shared adventures camping with each other.
An outdoorsman at heart, Lee cherished time spent in nature, and he delighted his family with annual camping trips to Rocky Fork State Park, where laughter and camaraderie formed the fabric of those cherished memories. He took great pride in his culinary skills, especially when it came to cooking Southern meals and perfecting smoked meats and deep fried turkey. His passion for vegetable gardening allowed him to share the fruits of his labor with loved ones, nurturing the bonds of family over plates filled with fresh cabbage, collard greens, peppers, and tomatoes.
An unwavering supporter of his family, Lee made it a point to attend every Winton Terrace Reunion, setting up a tent full of food and drinks, creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, having played baseball for various teams, including Newbreed and Hoopers where he played first and third base, and enjoyed the thrill of fishing, as well as owning two boats, one being named “The Bettie Lee” after his mother, that broadened his adventures on the water.
Lee leaves behind a vibrant legacy through his beloved wife, Charlotte; his children, Martin (Deanna) Laster, Nicole Miller, LaSandra (Martin Sr.) Matthews, and La Tisha Lewis; his step-children, Alicia Rucker and Dane Rucker; and his grandchildren LaMyla, Layla, Martin Jr., DeVante, Donnisha, Melinda, Ashley, Martin Laster Jr, Jasmine, Demetrius, Delvontae, Kayln, and Deanna. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Kayanna, Dante, Deilo, Ka’lijah, Wayne, and soon to arrive twins Harrison and Lily. Lee is also survived by his siblings, Flora Mae Adams, Bea Lewis, Herbert Lewis, John Lewis, Larry Lewis, Cynthia Lewis, Debbie (Tony) Boone, and Leslie Echols, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is remembered fondly by them, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, A.D Lewis and Bettie Echols, and sisters, Yvonne Bell, and Gloria Lewis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026 from 11:00am-12:00pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE line). A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will take place at 1:00pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
A repass will immediately follow the burial at The Dillard Building, 791 E. McMillan St., Cincinnati, OH 45206.
Lee will be fondly remembered for his joyful spirit, his laughter, and the love he shared with everyone around him. Lee was truly โa man amongst men.โ

“Growing up, Unc was the most positive and strongest role model in my life. Myself and a bunch of my cousins. I’ll never forget that deep, dinstinct voice that I always tried to imitate(I think i got it now). How you were one of the last ones to still call me Jerry. All the boys strived to be as cool as Unc, I’m still striving. I remember a few years ago, you gathered myself and the other older male cousins in your basement and let us know that it’s our time to step up and grab the reigns. I heard you Unc and I’m definitely going to do my part to continue to add to the legacy that you built! Praying for my cousins, your siblings and your wife! Love you Unc๐๐พ๐๐ช๐พ๐ฏ”

“I have known Lee since I was 10 years old. He dated my sister Earlene and they shared a daughter ( Nicole ). The Lewis family has always been a kind and generous family. Lee was as generous as his mother. Lee was the Best father and friend to my niece. I can’t say enough kind words about Lee. I remember that he was always kind to me and my heart breaks for the loss . May the Lewis family remember the promise Jesus made to all of us….He has concord death, and we Will see our loved ones ( who have fallen asleep in death) again in paradise. Much love to my niece Nicole and to the Lewis family. ๐๐พ”

“Lee was such a wonderful friend and neighbor. We always smiled wondering what new adventure he was heading off to whenever his camper pulled out. The mouthwatering smell from his grill often drifted through the neighborhood, a reminder of his love for good food and good times. Our hearts and prayers are with his family, wishing them peace and comfort during this difficult time. Luke McDaniel & Family”
