Obituary for Michael William Bayer Sr.
Michael William Bayer Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 19, 1958, in Cincinnati, OH, he dedicated his life to his family and his work as a welder, bringing both skill and a strong work ethic to every project.
Michael will be fondly remembered for his love of life and the connections he fostered with family and friends. Known for his infectious laughter and warmth, he enjoyed every moment spent with those he loved. He shared a profound love for fishing, cherished watching the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, and eagerly awaited the excitement of opening day games. Michael found joy in grilling meals for his family, camping trips filled with adventure, and leisurely golf cart rides through the serene landscapes he adored. His passion for coaching baseball showcased his dedication to nurturing the next generation, while turkey shoots brought out his competitive spirit and love for camaraderie.
Michael was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Mt. Healthy, the Moose Lodge 2 in Colerain, and Turners Club, where he built lasting friendships and shared joyful experiences.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 34 years, Becky Bayer, and their children: Brandy (Brandon Rucker) Sasser, Michael Bayer Jr., Eric (Trisha) Bayer, and Alexis Bayer. Also grieving his loss are his grandchildren: Brendan Sasser, Breanna Sasser, Kameron Rucker, Michael “Trey” Bayer, Adalynn Bayer, Kallianne Bayer, Delaney Bayer, Parker Bayer, and Hudson Bayer, in addition to his brother, Billy Bayer. He is also survived by his fur children, Coco and Paisley, and fur grandchild Ruby.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William and Judy Bayer, sisters, Theresa Bayer, and Kathy Bayer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16th from 8:00-9:00am at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE Line). A funeral service will follow at 9:00am with Pastor Tim Kufeldt officiating. Burial will take place at 10:00am at the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
