The Arlington Memorial Gardens is grateful for the opportunity to once again honor our Military and First Responders with our 6th Annual Field of Memories, a patriotic exhibition of 1000 American flags displayed on the Arlington Campus.
While this patriotic display is especially poignant for honoring our Military and First Responders, it is a tribute that is also open to honoring your own personal hero and/or essential worker in your life as well. The 3’x5′ flags, mounted atop 6′ poles, will rise and remain in place 24 hours a day during the Memorial Day weekend. The result is a stunning reminder of the true meaning of Memorial Day.
Each flag will carry the name of the honoree and will be adorned with distinctive colors of ribbons indicative of the honoree’s status: a veteran, serving on active duty, a first responder, a special someone interred at Arlington and those killed in action/in the line of duty.
